Small-batch botanical skincare · Port Townsend, WA
We grow calendula, nettle, and rugosa rose on two acres above the Salish Sea, then turn each harvest into skincare in batches of thirty-four jars. Never more, never rushed.
4.9 from 2,314 rituals kept · Certified plastic-neutral
No beeswax, no lanolin, no compromise. Every formula is built from plants we can name and fields we can walk.
Thirty-four is exactly what our copper pour-pot holds. Each jar is numbered, dated, and signed by whoever poured it.
Glass jars, aluminum lids, paper labels. Post back five empties and your sixth refill is on the house.

From the garden
Every June the hill behind our studio turns gold. We pick calendula at seven in the morning, while the resin is still sticky on the petals, and it is steeping in olive oil by nine. Nothing in a Root & Ritual jar travels farther than the length of our own driveway before it becomes skincare.
Three plants do most of the work, and we would rather do three things honestly than thirty things loudly:
Three steps, ten minutes
Massage a pearl of Nettle & Clay Cleanser over a damp face for one slow minute, then lift it away with a warm cloth. Nettle takes the day off without taking the skin with it.
Press — never rub — four drops of Dawn Ritual Oil into still-damp skin, working from the center of your face outward. Damp skin drinks; dry skin resists.
Warm a fingertip of Meadow Balm between your palms and trace it along cheekbones, lips, and anywhere the weather has been. This is the step people write to us about.
Kind words
4.9 average across 2,314 reviews. We read every single one aloud in the studio on Friday afternoons.
“The Meadow Balm got me through a Pacific Northwest winter without a single flaky patch. It smells like the field it came from. I am on jar number four, and I keep the empties.”
“I bought the Dawn Oil for the packaging, honestly. I reordered it because my skin has never looked this calm. Batches 27 and 31 were both perfect — you can tell a person made this.”
The Ritual Box
Four times a year, when a harvest cures, we box the best of it and send it out before the shop even opens. No monthly clutter — just one considered parcel per season.

Good to know
Twelve months unopened, six months once you break the seal. Because we use whole-plant infusions instead of heavy synthetic preservatives, fresher really is better. The pour date is stamped on the base of every jar, so you never have to guess.
Really. One copper pot, one pour, thirty-four jars at a time. Tuesdays and Fridays are pour days at the studio; if you visit the shop, you can usually watch a batch being labeled. Your jar is signed by Wren, Sam, or Dado — whoever poured it.
Start with Meadow Balm — calendula is one of the gentlest actives there is, and the formula has just five ingredients. Patch-test on the inner arm for 24 hours first. If you want to try before committing, the $12 sampler set holds a week of all four bestsellers.
Save five empty jars, request a prepaid mailer from your account, and post them back to us. We wash and refill them for the next batch, and your sixth product ships free. About a third of Batch No. 34 went out in returned glass.
Across the US and Canada, carbon-neutral, free over $40. Orders leave the studio within two business days: expect 2–4 days to the West Coast and 3–6 days heading east. Batch jars are wrapped in shredded paper from our own label offcuts.
